Ladd Designs make personalised stamps and embossers for books, cards, letters and more. You can have your name, address or your business logo made into a beautiful stamp that you can then use for personalising your own books, business cards, thank you cards etc. Ladd Designs is perfect for business owners, wedding planners, people that love arts and crafts, and in my case, book lovers! Here’s why…
It is every bookworm’s dream to have their own personal library but for many this will remain nothing but a dream. Whilst you may not be able to afford every book in existence or have the space for your own library, there are still a few things you can do to personalise your book collection and that’s where Ladd Designs come in.
When Ladd Designs contacted me asking to review one of their book stamps, I was over the moon.
One of my favourite bookshops in the world is called Shakespeare and Co in Paris and the reason I love this shop is because when you purchase a book from them, they stamp the inside cover with their special “Shakespeare and Co” logo.
I’ve always thought that this made the book-buying experience so much more special and I always look forward to visiting this Parisian bookshop.
Now, I can recreate this experience at home with every new book I buy by stamping my new purchases with my name.
For one, this means that my friends can never borrow my books and not give them back, but most of all, this makes each book really feel like your own.
I like to think that years down the line when I’m giving my grandkids my favourite stories, they’ll remember me because of these stamps.
I only just turned 21 – it’s my birthday today! – so I’m not sure why I’m thinking about grandkids…
I picked my book stamp from a range of different designs available on the website in the “books” section. I had a hard job picking between an embosser and a stamp because the former is undoubtedly much cooler, though also much less practical. In the end I went for the stamp and have been happily stamping my book collection ever since.
The design I picked is called the “james book stamp” and after telling Ladd Design what I wanted on my stamp and which design I wanted, I received a proof back within 48 hours via email. The proof looked exactly how I thought it would so I gave the go ahead and then waiting for my stamp to arrive. Ladd Designs is based in the US but I’m currently based in Paris so I thought the delivery would take ages but I was surprised to find a little package waiting for me at home within a week of ordering my stamp.
The stamp comes wrapped in a mesh bag and is actually a lot bigger than I thought it would be. It measures 1.575″x1.575″ and is rather long as well but it’s the perfect size for stamping the front of a book. It’s not overwhelmingly large, nor too small to see, it’s just big enough to make an elegant mark in your books.
Made from plastic, it feels really sturdy so I had no worries about giving a hard press down when testing this out. What’s more, this stamp is eco-friendly as it is made from 65% post-consumer recycled materials. The stamp looks really professional and is exactly the sort of thing I’d love to have on my work desk.
This stamp couldn’t be easier to use. I’m not sure this needs explaining really.. But you literally just press downwards (don’t be shy to press hard), and voilà, a perfect, inky black, personalised stamp, just for you. The ink dries really quickly but I’d recommend leaving it out in the air until the “shiny” quality goes away and then you should be safe to close your book. I’ve tried stamping both paper and glossy pages and the ink sticks to both of them easily and I haven’t had any smudges so far!
The stamp comes filled with ink and should last for a whopping 2000 impressions! I was really impressed by this statistic as there’s nothing worse than a stamp that only print half the design because it’s running out of ink. More ink is available from Ladd Designs in 15 different colours for only $10. The stamp itself is only $35 so I thought this was a pretty good deal for 2000 stamps.
This would make a great gift for a book lover and there’s a huge range of designs from professional to girly so have a look at their stamp selection here for inspiration. I absolutely love my new stamp from Ladd Designs and can’t wait to stamp my entire book collection when I get back to England in a few weeks. All in all, if you’re a book lover, this is a great product for you!

My two eldest girls would love a personalised book stamp, although the amount of books they both have, it might take a while!

Wow, I love this idea for a gift for a book lover. Definitely going to get shopping. I used to think books with name stamps in were so posh when I was little.
