How Much Would Your Dream Lifestyle Really Cost?

HOW MUCH WOULD YOUR DREAM LIFESTYLE REALLY COST?

Lots of people fantasise about what their life could be like if they had just a little bit more money. I would think, however, that most people probably don’t actually know just how much more money would really be required to live their dream lifestyle. If you’ve ever wondered to yourself “how much will my lifestyle cost?” then this is the post for you.

I’ll be graduating next summer and have a job lined up, which got me thinking about how much I really need to be earning in order to support the lifestyle I dream about. Stay Sourced have come up with this lifestyle calculator to help you figure out how much would your dream lifestyle really cost. You can try it for yourself here.

Now take a guess at what figure the calculator gave me…

£114,000 per year

Damn. Good thing I’m going to be a lawyer then. 😂

This is based on the assumption that I would like to live in London, have two children, live in a semi-detached house, wear designer clothes, dine in chain restaurants at the weekend, shop in regular supermarkets, drive a family car, go on “adventure” holidays, and own a rabbit.

What do you think the biggest cost out of all of those is?

Kids of course!

So I then cut kids out of the equation to see what the answer would be then. This number halved.

£57,000 per year

I mean I always knew kids were expensive but it wasn’t until I took this short quiz that I realised just how pricey raising two kids can be.

This is all, of course, a dream, but one that I would love to be able to turn into a reality. It certainly puts everything in perspective when you see a number as big as £114,000 pop up on the screen and has motivated me to work even harder and remember to save as much money as possible. Your dreams are achievable if you keep chipping away at that work!

First I would have to figure out what my dream lifestyle would be! However, not having kids would put me on the less expensive end of the scale, lol.

Lol, I have 3 kids and it’s not easy as they can cost a fair amount especially when you start needing tutors.

Haha this is an enjoyable read! I’d have to say though that everyone often says kids cost a lot but they don’t really!! I have 2 and yeah you need more money than if it was just you and a partner but they aren’t extortionate humans!! Lol

£ 30,000 even with two kids. I don’t live in the UK so I had to select a random region, Scotland. To be honest, I was expecting worse!

Omg! I’d need 55,000 per year – this is really an eye opener, though I’m not going into the suggested careers xx
