December is already upon us so you know what that means… Christmas is coming! I find it harder and harder to buy Christmas presents as each year passes by. There’s so much choice out there and it’s such a commercial holiday that it can be difficult to weed out suitable gifts for your loved ones.
So these are just some of my Christmas gift ideas for ladies in 2018. There’s something for every sort of girl whether she loves fashion, beauty, travel, wellness and more! These are great gifts for best friends, girlfriends, sisters etc.
Have a little scroll through my 2018 ladies Christmas gift guide:
Ted Baker is a great brand to buy gifts from when you want to get something beautiful for a special lady. The problem is it’s often quite expensive but this Glitter Button set is very reasonable for Ted Baker and won’t break the bank!
This set is simple but sparkly and great for ladies who like understated pieces of jewellery. It’s not often you can find a set that would look great for both every day wear and for occasions but this fits that description.
Put a little sparkle in her stocking this year with this rose gold jewellery set!
Edge of Ember is a new jewellery brand to me but I’m in love with every single one of their pieces. I had such a tough job deciding which of their necklaces I wanted to feature as a Christmas present this year but in the end I went with the initial necklace. I chose the “O” initial because I loved how the necklace looked and not because my name contains the letter “O” though!
Layering lots of simple necklaces is all the rage right now and Edge of Ember pieces are perfect for that. You can choose the chain length, colour and the pendant too. Opt for this “O” necklace for a timeless piece that will go with every outfit, or select the initials of the recipient for a beautiful personalised gift.
Watches make great gifts no matter what the occasion. Since they’re worn every day, the recipient will be reminded of you every time they look down at their watch. This Oxford Diamond watch from Rotary has a simple and classic design but the added diamonds around the dial make it really special. And they’re real diamonds mind you!
Each watch comes with a certificate of authenticity so you know the diamonds are genuine. What’s more, this watch is water resistant and made from stainless steel. Not just a pretty face. These are sold at RRP from Rotary Watch for £209 but it’s currently 20% off at John Lewis where you will also get a 2 year guarantee.
If you don’t know what to get someone, then an experience is one of the best Christmas present options. It’s basically like saying, hey I’d like to spend some quality time together, and what could be better than that at Christmas?
The PopUp Painting Class available from Virgin Experiences is one of my top picks. I’ve attended this class twice now and it’s been a great experience both times. I know those who aren’t very artistic might feel nervous about this experience but it’s honestly for every level of ability, including level zero (me).
I picked the Van Gogh Starry Night class which took place in a restaurant in Covent Garden, London. It was perhaps an ambitious class to go for and the end result was not all that great but I did have a lot of fun! The glass of Prosecco certainly helps you get into a creative mindset…
Biscuiteers have featured in every single one of my gift guides because I think these handmade boxes of biscuits are one of the loveliest gift options. They sell themed tins of biscuits with the most incredibly icing work I’ve ever seen. Each biscuit is like a miniature work of art and they’re almost too good to eat!
This Christmas I’m featuring the Iced Christmas Biscuit Tin with some classic Chrismassy shapes such as crackers, snowflakes, Christmas trees and more. The Nutcracker Christmas tin that I featured in last year’s Christmas Gift Guide is another favourite of mine though.
Buy the iced Christmas Biscuit Tin for £30 here.
PLUS if you enter “Laura Hartley” at the checkout, you’ll get 15% off!
A statement shoe is something that most girls would love but lots are too afraid to buy. It can be difficult to justify buying something a little different, especially shoes, which can be a bit pricier than other fashion items. And that’s why they make the perfect gifts. Nothing makes me happier than gifting someone something that you know they’ve been wanting but they haven’t been able to or brave enough to buy for themselves!
These smart burgundy boots from White Stuff are a great Christmas gift idea because they can be dressed up or dressed down so you can get a lot of wear out of them. What’s more they’re really quite comfortable thanks to the chunky heel so you can wear them all day without wanting to chop your feet off. They’re easy to slip on and off and made with a lovely soft suede material. And, obviously, the colour is amazing!
Christmas is party season so it’s a great time to gift something starry and sparkly. This midi skirt from White Stuff would be perfect for a New Year’s Eve party so gift it to a special girl this Christmas so she has one less thing to worry about this festive period!
The elasticated waist band is also a huge bonus for the festive period because if you haven’t eaten a mince pie too many is it even Christmas?
I quickly fell in love with Joanie as I browsed their slogan tees and sweatshirts. Their clothes are fun and feminine with most lines inspired by vintage designs. If you know a girl that loves to brunch (and who doesn’t?) then this is a fun and cosy gift this Christmas. This lovely light pink sweater is super soft and cosy, perfect for snuggling in this winter. It’s cute and quirky so snap it up whilst there’s still 40% off the Joanie website!
If you know a girl that loves to travel, a girl who adventures or a girl who loves books then an Eastpak backpack is a great gift idea. It’s the perfect size for a day trip or for going to school/university every day. Finding a trendy and practical backpack is easy when browsing the Eastpak range. This beautiful unique mint colour is my favourite from their collection – who doesn’t love pastel colours?
I don’t know about you but I loose my gloves every single year so having someone gift them to me saves me the trouble of having to buy myself another pair. And if you’re going to gift someone gloves, they may as well be a pair of soft leather gloves. I love these because of the small star embroidered on the corner of the wrist, which is a lovely festive addition.
Another easy stocking filler this Christmas is a pair of nice warm socks. Even better if they’ve got a funky pattern on them and Royalties Paris have lots of those! My absolute favourites are the Sherlock Daschund motif socks which are a subtle way to have some fun with your outfit. If you want to gift something sparkly then these sparkly pink cat motif socks are the gift for you!
Lush gift boxes are a great company to buy gifts from – their products smell amazing, are great for the skin and are both vegan and sustainable. If you know a girl that is in need of a good pampering then gift her a LUSH Christmas Gift Set, which are usually filled with sparkly bath bombs, sensuous shower gels, Christmas scrubs and more.
My two favourites are the Stardust Gift Box, which smells delectably sweet and is filled with lots of pink and sparkles. This is a great gift for a girl that loves to take long hot baths and she’ll emerge with a little shimmer on her skin after using one of these amazing bath bombs!
I also love the Check It Out Gift Box because the check cloth used to wrap up the inside goodies can be kept for another day, in keeping with LUSH’s sustainable ethos. Inside there are lots of scrubs and washes so it’s a little more “practical” than the Stardust box and great for travelling.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram you’ll know that I’ve been travelling for the past 6 months. It’s really hard to maintain a decent beauty routine when you’re always on the go but this mini SENSEE travel sonic cleanser is the perfect gift for girls who love to travel.
The device is very compact and should fit into your travel beauty bag even if you’re only bringing carry on luggage. The cleansing brush size is the same as my full size Magnitone cleansing brush that I use when I’m at home but it’s a fraction of the price which makes it one of my top travel essentials!
Ted Baker is not only great for jewellery but also beauty! Their beauty range gets better and better each year and the gorgeous packaging and presentation make them an easy gift option. This set of three little boxes all contain a nail polish and small fragrance each so it’s a great stocking filler for ladies. The little boxes fold open in a cracker shape and inside wrapped in tissue paper are two delicate, feminine beauty items.
It’s not secret that I love Bobbi Brown make up, it’s what I use for my every day beauty and now for my party looks too. This new Bobbi Brown Crystal Eye Shadow Palette stunned me with its sparkle when I first opened it up and I’m sure any other beauty fanatic will feel the same! There are eight different shadows in total, most of which are light, neutral and nude/brown tones but there’s one grey sparkle shadow too that is great for creating a dramatic, sparkly, smokey eye this Christmas.
Get this sparkly Bobbi Brown palette from Selfridges for £35.
Also available at John Lewis for £29.95.(NB, currently sold out!)
This Lumie Bodyclock is one of the best things you can give this Christmas as it’s something everyone needs but few think to buy. This Bodyclock wakes you up slowly using natural light in the morning so you no longer need to wake up to the sound of your alarm blaring. Pretty neat right? What’s more it’s can also be used as a SAD lamp during the day time to bring some extra brightness in the room.
Lumie stock a range of different Bodyclock sunrise alarm clocks at different prices so there should be something for everyone. Mine is a Luxe 750D and it comes with lots of frills such as a bluetooth and a DAB+ radio but you can get the most basic Lumie wake up light for £29.99 on Amazon.
For the health and fitness fanatic in your life, the Free Soul Vegan Collection is a great gift option. I’ve been using their protein powders for a while now but this new collection comes complete with a few other items for your health and wellbeing. This set includes a tea for waking up and falling asleep to boost energy levels and help regulate your sleep/wake cycles. Something we all need this winter I think…
I’ve never really understood the hype about Yankee candles but I just got back from a short trip to Copenhagen where they are candle mad and now I kinda love them. Seriously, the average Dane burns 6kg of candle wax a year!
Yankee candle have recently revamped their jars and they now stock these new square based candle jars. My absolute favourite is the “sweet frosting” jar, which makes your kitchen smell like you’ve just been baking a cake! It’s a great scent for this time of year when you want to curl up by the fire and feel all hygge.
Alcohol is an obvious gift to get when you want to get something nice but you honestly have no clue what the person wants or needs in their life. It’s a good present to bring to a Christmas party or to have at home when you’re receiving guests.
Langley’s Old Tom isn’t just any gin – it’s a gin with a story that is intrinsically linked with gin consumption in 17th century England. During this time, gin was beginning to have a huge impact on the social fabric of the city and government efforts to stem the flow of gin forced its production and sale underground. Langley’s brown bottle is in keeping with the gin’s story.
This gin is both sweet and spicy and a great choice for the Christmas period!
This baby bottle of British Cassis Blackcurrant Liqueur would make a great stocking filler for those who love a cheeky tipple. Jazz up any glass of Christmas Prosecco with a drop of this blackcurrant liqueur for a rich and fruity drink. What’s more the bottle and box are beautiful!
There’s a chance this is gin? Who are we kidding, it’s Christmas, it’s definitely gin! A fun mug is a solid option as a stocking filler, even better if you’ll follow up later by making the recipient a mug of tea or hot chocolate (or gin).
White Stuff might not be your first choice when shopping for mugs but their home section is surprisingly well stocked with trendy and aesthetic items that make great gifts so check it out!
This is a gift for that friend that knows all best cocktail bars in your city. Instead of heading out and dropping £10 on each cocktail (I live in London!), she’ll be able to host cocktail parties of her own at home. This gorgeous rose gold set will look elegant on the side table of the dining room and is sure to impress! The set also comes with a cocktail recipe booklet for inspiration. You can also get a set of copper highball glasses for £12.99 so you can drink in style. Get the best deal directly from Domu.co.uk:
