If you’re starting to take blogging seriously, then something that should be pretty high on your list of things to get is business cards. These are indispensable for the serious blogger but often overlooked because of price, hassle of design etc. But trust me, they are worth it.
Once you’ve decided that you want to get yourself some business cards, the next question is, where do you get them from? There are loads of different companies out there offering different deals, but none are better than stressfreeprint.co.uk in my opinion. Years ago I ordered samples from a number of different companies but none of them offered me the creative freedom that StressFreePrint does, nor were their delivery times as quick.
It was slightly unfortunate that I was offered some business cards to review just as I was undergoing some major changes in my blog’s design so the design on the business cards does not wholly match my blog design. For those with simple blog designs like mine, not having a design that matches the blog’s is probably a common issue, but as long as the business card makes it clear what your blog is about and gives off the same sort of vibe, it should be fine.
So first things first, you need to decide what you want to have put on your card. The — essentials are:
– Blog name
– Blog url
– Social media handles (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram or others if your focus is elsewhere)
– Contact email address
Then you need to decide what sort of design you want to have on your card and how you want all of the above details to be displayed. Do you want the cards to be printed on both sides? Do you want your logo to be the main event? Decide what’s most important to you and says the most about your blog and have the details arranged accordingly. If these cards are only given to other bloggers at events, perhaps they don’t need to be as ‘professional’ as ones that you intend on giving to brands. Think about what you want your business cards to say about you and your blog and make sure the design matches that.
StressFreePrint held my hand the whole way through the process, asking me what I’d like to be included on it as well as the design I wanted. I told them I wasn’t really sure of a design and if they could propose some visuals inspired by some of my old logos I sent to them. They replied pretty swiftly with a two-sided design including all of the information I had asked to be included. I decided I wasn’t entirely happy with the first design as it was a little simple, so I asked if they’d add an image or symbol to the current design. Swiftly, again, I received a new design and this is the one I went with.
Once I confirmed which design I wanted, my order was sent to the printer and arrived on my doorstep a few days later. Each batch comes in a little plastic box, which is uber handy for storing them and keeping them on your desk. The quality of the cards was even better than I expected as they were printed on a nice thick card with bright colours on both sides. Everything is exactly as I wanted it (it’s rare that I find a service that does this!) and I’d definitely order another batch from StressFreePrint when I run out. You can buy as many business cards as you like with packs from 50 to a whopping 10,000! 50 cards printed in color on both sides with a semi-gloss finish will set you back £24.16 which isn’t too bad.
The creative team at StressFreePrint are helpful, efficient and friendly. I basically told them what I wanted and they did the rest of the work for me so there was no hassle for me! The service was also surprisingly quick as I imagined it would take much longer for them to think up a design for me.
All in all I’m very happy with my cards from StressFreePrint and would highly recommend them if you’re looking to get some yourself. Business cards are great for networking at blogger/brand events and an easy way to exchange details with someone and make them remember you. If you’re regularly attending events or interacting with other bloggers I’d strongly suggest getting some cards, it will add a level of professionalism and they’re likely to impress!
